Default Gained 2008 M5 - Lost 2006 M3

Hi Kids,

Just traded in my 2006 M3 v6 for a 2008 M5 v10 (SMG). I do miss the M3 but that didn't last too long .

Any help on what the first mods might be (air intake)?

Is the K&N typhoon kit any good? Or just change out the filters with K&N?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Da Grinch

my suggestion on that car would be a good tune and possibly some exahust mods (like removing cats)

most bmws have excellent stock intakes, and there likely isnt much to be gained there

congrats and LOVE THE M5!

Well congrats.

DON'T get the K&N. Go with BMC filter, they show the best HP increase + good quality. Hope it's not too late though!

ps: Exhaust is a must if you wanna really enjoy that V10. Just sold my full RPI exhaust and it sounds too stock now

keep it stock and get extended warranty.

My engine just blew at 63,000 miles on the M5. Got a new engine through the extended warranty. Would have been denied the claim if I did ANY mods.

I just think it's worth it going this path, unless you have to mod to have fun.

Awesome car, I still miss mine (should be back in September from the shop). Congrats and good luck.
