Default How do I drive my car with the hood up

I'm trying to see if my engine mounts need replacing by getting my friend to accelerate while holding the brake but my piece of shit car won't let me move with the hood up. I tried taping the sensor but that didn't work. Does anyone know what the trick is?

You’re probably taping the alarm sensor. The other good sensors are both in front of either side of the intake funnel above the radiator. You’ll see where the hood pegs go down into there are switches on either side.

D'oh that's totally what I did

Thanks so much man. I think I'm going to look into coding this out. I don't know why but it really bothers me that it stops me from driving with the hood up. What if one of the chicken shit sensors fail?

Posted this when I was really frustrated with it. In my defense this is one of the dumbest most overthought things I've ever seen in a car ever
