Looks clean. Make sure to leatherique the seats

I would redo the subframe and some vanos parts but you shouldn't need to worry about rod bearings for a little while if its oil's been correctly and regularly changed

Did verts have any extra bracing that would make the subframe less vulnerable? I know at least since my fil bought it it's been babied. Are all m3s susceptible or just ones that have been driven hard?

For serious, get a coupe.

You can find nice examples in that same range if you look around and have patience. I picked mine up for a stitch under 13 with 80k miles, full service history and generally in as nice of shape as that vert. They are out there. Do your homework on the car and be sure you get a good mechanical example.

Oh yeah, just say no to gray interiors

Thanks for everything so far. I've got time to think about it and look around a bit more. Found this local to me last night. Wheels are terrible, but it's a black 6 speed coupe.

Everyone is telling OP to get a coupe. It's not necessary. OP, what are your intentions in owning a M3?

I'm just looking for a fun second car to cruise around with the family. No autocross or anything.

Vert is clean, you know the history and would be fun for the family. That black coupe...man I have a bad feeling about that one.
