Default New guy with a not so new M.

I figured I would make an intro/project thread for myself and my m3. I have been away from forums for awhile and I am new here. I have had my 97 m3 since, December 2015, I bought it from a driving instructor at a local track so it was pretty sorted. Here are some pics from when I picked it up.

I started by giving the car a good detail, beginning with the engine bay.

I converted my basement to a garage and move it in with one of my other long term projects.

Nothing really changed for a few years. It was my daily and I just enjoyed the car. I did finally find a set of style 24's which I felt like the car needed badly.

I got a daily driver so the car became a weekend/nice weather car, and I added another car to the stable.

Since then the M3 has been on the back burner. I occasionally took it on weekend drives and shows but more energy went to my 02. Now that its in pretty good shape its time to give the m some attention. I started a few months ago with a new guibo and shifter rebuild. Excuse my fiance's artsy instagram edit.

I think it was due.

That brings us to present day(well this summer.) It was getting a little shabby and due for a good detail, so I spent a few evenings correcting the paint and giving it a good detail.

A few weeks ago I took my fiancee for a day trip to the GA mountains and fell in love with this car all over again.

Now, to present day for real this time. The one thing that I felt let this car down a little was the interior. The headliner is starting to sag, my glove box fix was looking a little rough and the drivers seat was awful. I decided to restore the interior this winter. Here it is currently.

The mrs actually did a great job stitching this up after my pocket knife clip ripped it up.

Mulberry lux door cards, Im going to try to color change them to dove.

After getting an estimate from a local shop to rebuild the foam and fix my leather, I decided to shop around for some vaders in better shape. I came across these and picked them up Sunday.

I gave them a quick clean, I think they will work.

After.

So thats where I am today. I ordered some headliner material, and a leather repair and dye kit. I will update as I go.

Nice car and nice work space. I recently picked up another e36 that needs some light refreshing. Wish I had that space!

Funny you should mention that.... I am in the process of doing an addition on my house. Master suite with giant walk in closet, and laundry up stairs. Oh yeah, an additional 600sq feet of garage under that.

They dropped off the lumber today.
