Default Anyone running Euro oil filter canister with an oil cooler?

If so, what did you do about the alternator cooling air feed? The oil lines push right into the air feed pathway. I can try to notch into the cooling feed but I'm not sure I'll be able to hook up the cooling tube if I do that. Thoughts?
Thanks!
Joe

You can notch it and still hook up your alternator duct.

I do.
And I have no alternator cooling. BMW did away with it on the 3.2’s.

On the 3.0 the alternator cooling is fed through the left brakeduct channel.

Euro or US/North American?
Both my US 3.2L have the alternator cooling feed.

Euro. What I meant was you can ditch the cooling altogether or use the Euro 3.0 setup.

I haven’t seen anything why this would not fit the 3.2.

Looks like it is the Z3 M version here

$686 Ouch.
I can't tell which have cooling ducts and which do not. Either there are no pictures of the picture conflict with the online parts catalogs.

You don’t need a new alternator.

Just remove the cooling duct.

I haven’t had all different alternators in my hand, so can’t tell if all duct fit all alternators. But they can’t be that different.

I have not used the alternator cooling duct in 10 years.

I see. So you just leave it open like I show in the picture?
I believe there is an alternator with a closed plastic case (just vented) but I cannot figure out the part number. Anyway, no problem sucking in road junk through that big opening? Thanks!
