Default RTD Short Shifter Group Buy Interest.

Whats up guys? I've been in talks for the past week with Maher over at RTD Shifters about setting up a possible group buy on their shifter.

When i contacted them the only shifter available was a universal one that didn't use the e46 mounting holes and you also had to cut into the interior slightly due to the locking mechanism that is used. For me that was a NO NO.

They informed me that they are working on a shifter specifically for the E46 that uses the OEM e46 mounting holes with no cutting needed. It will not have the locking mechanism tho.

RTD Facebook Page.... https://www.facebook.com/RTD-Shifter...4747136334704/

Here is a few key points to this shifter.

- All made of Aluminum Alloy Alumec 89
- Super precise SHIFTING travels
- Short throws
- Flexible throws
- Light Weight
- Knob close to the steering wheel
- NO cutting of the interior
- Uses OEM mounting holes
- Full Warranty for 1 year
- Will be track tested

Not to mention it looks badass.

They will be track testing this ( 700hp car ) shortly and are very close to a final product.

Prices will be ( Keep in mind this does not include shipping ).

UNITS SOLD

1-5 $275 + ship
5-10 $260 + ship
10-20 $250 + ship
20 and over $240 + ship

These can also be anodized to a desired color for an extra cost. I'm doing black.

Here is a few videos and photos of the shifter. Here is the shifter with the locking mechanism.

Here is the prototype for the NON locking mechanism with OEM mount points and no cutting. Pic 1 is compared to shifter with locking mechanism. ( left side locking mechanism, right side NON locking )

Again this is a post to gain interest as the final product is not available yet.

Whatsup Guys,

I am just again clarifying that the mentioned prices above are not related to the RTD shifter with Lock Mechanism.

Regards,
Maher

Prevents you from accidentally going into reverse.

Was planning on getting a CAE down the road, but this is much cheaper...

Can we get one with the lockout option and cut into the dash a little bit?

Anodized red will be a nice touch for you.

Just to give a heads up there are some talks to add the ring under the knob. Just like the locking mechanism shifter has. This is actually part of the locking mechanism but imo it will add a nice grab piont and hand rest sorta speak while shifting.

Are we required to run stiffer mounts with the new design? Any options for different length sifters for non locking?

Yes we are ready to do any custom shifter as per customer needs, interested with a non locking with adjustable height?
I didn't get your point regarding the shifter mounts, what do you mean?

Reading through this thread will help answer your question. The good stuff starts on page 6 but read the whole thread anyway.
