I don't really have a sensor that would work, but we do have a backup camera that would work quite well. We've installed it on quite a few M3's in the last few months including ours, and currently, it's on sale (but only as of today and tomorrow, deal ends Tomorrow at midnight -11/31-10):

eas - Video Source Module (VSM) - e9x 3-Series, including M3 (MY06-MY08)

eas - Video Source Module (VSM) - e9x 3-Series, including M3 (MY09+)
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=2920

Features
Audio/Video Source Selectable by OEM Steering Wheel Buttons (CANbus)
Picture in Picture (PIP) Function
Automatic Reverse Camera Activation
Parking Distance Apex Grid Overlay
1 Camera Input
3 Audio/Video Inputs
RGB Video Input for those using CARPC Displays
NTSC, PAL Auto Detection
Small footprint allows for easy storage behind dash

Here's a quick video showing it's features:

Hope that helps!

The thing is, I was hoping to go for a more generic version. I do not have the screen.
