I got lucky, wanted a AW coupe with CF roof, auto trans, comfort and competition package. Walked into Shelly BMW and saw one on the delivery truck that just came in.

Car wasn't even in the system yet or gone through new delivery inspection when I did the paperwork. 20 minutes to look at the car and test drive, 20 min to negotiate price, 20 min paperwork.

Was in and out with the new M3 exactly how I wanted in less than an hour!

I feel for you guys that are waiting...hope I didn't snatch up one of yours on order

so thats the thing... im going to be looking for one of these bad boys eventually and i figure since im buying new (my e46 was used) i really want it exactly the way i want it... for 65k i dont wanna compromise on any options...

i built my car on the website and it came out to about 67k... how much better than that can i expect? what is the best time to buy? and does my down payment affect my final price?

im just curious if finding one on the lot and having the sale happen right there and then is an incentive for the dealership to give bigger discounts as opposed to ordering one...

I felt exactly the same way...I am alright with the wait and I didn't want to spend an extra $2K on premium sound.

I posted a thread a few days back here: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=343007

I was able to get $500 over invoice....so roughly $5K less than MSRP when building it out online.
