No problem. I contacted them, when I was considering eliminating my mechanical fan, as I wanted to know if there was a better option, if the 2049 wasn't enough.

So far, I haven't seen my engine coolant outlet temps go much over 200F in stopped traffic. This was with 100F ambient temps, and it was very brief. I would like to update the ECU to have the fan hit 100% duty cycle at slightly lower temps.

This fan will be good for the extreme heat we face here in the Middle-east. 125f nowadays lol

But will it still fit with, say, a CSF triple pass?

So itís safe to say the 2082 will be an upgrade compared to the 2049. It is also worth pointing out the 2082 will draw more current than the 2049. With both of these fans we recommend a 40 amp fuse.

Great info thanks for contacting Spal

0.4inH2o = 10mmH2o
0.5inH2o = 12.5mmH2o
1.0inH2o = 25mmH2o

with this in info;
At 12.5mmH2o
2049 is pushing 1280 cfm
2021 is puching 1280 cfm as well
2082 is pushing 1499 cfm

At 25mmH2o
2049 is pushing 0 cfm
2021 is pushing 378 cfm
2082 is puching 596 cfm

Given this info you can clearly see 2082 blows the other 2 fans out the water

AC and condenser are still in the car and functional. I have never had an issue on track either. I had to back off one time at Chuckwalla in 100+ degree ambient temps, but every single e46 had to back off then. I think that is more the limitations of the radiator/oil cooler, than any sort of fan. Removing the AC would help that situation, but this is a street car that gets tracked. Not the opposite.

Good to know. Thanks. Mechanical fan delete WITHOUT an electric fan replacement sounds like works even in hot weather for street driven cars, leaving ac condenser/aux fan in place...

I know it looks OK either way. What I meant though, is that the shroud should help cooling, because it draws the air more evenly over the radiator.
