probably as old as the car. The car is a 2004 and have gone 80k miles
I was also suspecting the fuel pump, but its kinde of strange that both times this has happen the clearing of adaptions / fault codes has fixed it.

If you address the fuel pump, I would highly recommend using the Radium Engineering fuel pump install kit and going with an AEM 50-1200 E85 fuel pump. I do not run E85 but it is a much harder fuel on the internals of a pump than standard gasoline. The E85 version is a beefed up version of the standard one and should last longer, at least from a chemical resistance perspective, compared to a stock pump. Avoid deatschwerks at all costs, if you search you will find many cases of premature failure. Mine lasted 2,000 miles before it died and it took forever to troubleshoot since I just changed the pump and didn't consider it as the culprit.

Hi
Just an update
Changed all the seal, installed anti rattle kit and redrilled oil disc.
The fault was however that the exhaust cam was not aligned properly from previous engine rebuild.

The car is working flawlessly and I now have a fresh vanos
