I've never understood that view.
Seller could be a regular customer. Buyer some guy dealer will never see again, esp. if buying long distance. There's a chance PPI will lean in the seller's direction. Also, if PPI finds a lot of stuff obvious question would be, why didn't the dealership already address?

Maybe you have a higher faith in human nature than I do. Skepticism is healthy when buying a car.

Sorry for the late post. Morristown BMW PPI report came backfor the 04 IR/IR 48K with Rear spring R/L broken,Brake flush, all Belt need to be replace due aging/weathering $2,600.00 at the dealer. I decide to pass on the car. I was told on the phone the car recently pass it own PPI( seller argued with Morristown BMW that the report was wrong. Morristown BMW stood by their report. After a week the seller offer to pay for the repair to move the car. With me being out of state and looking for investment grade car Morristown BMW stated the only records it could pull up for the car was the 1st oil change (no breaking in svc records or any records to speak of. and air bags recall still open.

Which bring me to another 06 E46 M3 I found interest located in Cali... can anyone recommend, E46 M3 specialist in Mountain View Cali? or should send this one to the local BMW shop? this car has all records, only svc at bmw dealership from new all keys books & window sticker,

Am I missing something? 1 broken spring and 2 belts and brake flush $2600??
Sounds like the car was in almost perfect shape. Broken spring is not uncommon. Replacing rear springs (do both) would be a simple job. Replacing belts is a bit of a pain but otherwise simple. Brake flush do while rear wheels are off for springs.

(I know what you mean about the repair cost it was a very clean car but I want M3 E46 with all 3 keys books record and window sticker)This was the price at Morristown BMW and thing always cost more at the dealer. The seller repair the car for half the price and sent the completed invoice but was no longer interested.

If you dont have the money to pay someone else to fix an M cart without bitching and moaning and calling bankruptcy, you should at least be able to do the work yourself. There is no in-between. Its an old car that will need shit ton of work sooner than later. Boils down to the fact that you dont seem to have any understanding of the estimate they gave you all you saw was the $$$ and upsell maintenance

You should be buying a Honda, because you passed on a reasonable M3.

That car only needed $350 of repairs. You could have easily done that at home. The estimate they gave you is way too high
