Shouldn't matter. I've seen some atrocious, horribly taken care of, awfully modded sub 100k cars, and some beautiful 250k+ cars.
One of our local guys has over 700WHP in his 600k+ (km) daily driver e36.
500k+ miles is AWESOME though. Crazy numbers. This car could reach a million KMs not too distantly.

Fun project!

I've been doing 100+ miles/day commute for the last 3 years, mostly on the M3 wagon but occasionally on the M5. It's crazy/stupid/sad/annoying/satisfying/kinda fun how fast they add up. I'll be at 200,000 miles before the end of the month in the wagon.

Happily my commute is "fast" enough () that I'm only in the car for ~30 min in the morning and 45 min in the afternoon (traffic limited then).

Wow. This looks really good for the mileage. The interior looks like it doesn't even have 100k

I love it. Great to see it being restored instead of scrapped.

Curious what kinda jam this will make going from 10.5:1 to 11.5:1 everything else being equal...Do you plan on keeping everything else stock-ish?

Damn man, you're an inspiration. I'm at 210k miles on mine and am apparently still a relative toddler. Can't wait to hear how the build goes.

It will be getting Riot Racing Cams (regrinds)
Super tech springs, M50 manifold, at least 24lb injectors, however I do have a set of new 42lb injectors ( the green tops from ford racing ) I just need to measure them for fitment and make sure BPC thinks we can tune with them. Larger MAF. Iím looking into header options as well.

But otherwise Iím leaving the head alone.

Iím hoping I can get close to 250 at the wheel, donít really no what to expect though.

Dropped the pistons and rings off for fitment/clearance check.

Got a chance to look at the head while I was there. It got all 24 valve guides.

Cylinder 5 and 6 required new exhaust valves due to excessive wear on the valve from an excessively worn guide.

They only took .006 off the head, so I think Iím gonna go with .080 cometic head gasket and ARP studs.

They told me ring clearance will be .003

Hoping to have everything back by middle of next week at the latest.

The shop doing all the machining / clearance work is Axis Speed (Formerly: T-Hoff) here in Raleigh.
