I have the Febi/Bilstein/MTC (it's been made by a few groups over the years) weighted knob, it's super basic looking but has nice hand feel and looks very appropriate in the e36.

Please don’t degrade the e36 interior. Get a bmw knob.

The original lit M gearknob is hard to beat.

Either the “M” version or earlier “///” version.

100% agree.

One of my cars came with the ZHP knob. I went back to stock asap.

Performance shift knob was way too small for my hands. It also didn't look nice with the car it looks too modern with all the silver trim.

This is such a relative question, I have a ZHP knob right now and I think it's great. I also had one like this which was great for a different reason.

I had the OEM shift knob and didn't like it much. Very happy with the ZHP.

Went back to the OEM after the ZHP knob. Suits the interior so much better. I prefer the feel of the lighter knob, as its more "work" to shift.
