I know this quote is stating head bolts, but still applicable. Quote:

For reference the used sets I have here all measure; Set1: 57.5x-57.6xmm Set2: 57.55-57.58mm I need a new bolt to judge if these are stretch or not (I'm thinking no). Last edited by Braymond141; Thu, May-18-2017 at 01:10:12 AM. |

I'm about to rebuild my calipers, and I noticed that the specs for Front and Rear Caliper Carrier Bolts (16mm head) are different:
Front http://m3.madrussian.net/diy_front_brake_rotors.shtml "Apply some anti-seize on the 16mm hex bolts before putting them back in. Torque the bolts down to 110 nm." Rear http://m3.madrussian.net/diy_rear_brake_rotors.shtml "Apply some anti-seize on the 16mm hex bolts before putting them back in. Torque the bolts down to 67 nm." A separate source states: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...61&postcount=2 "Rear carrier retaining bolts: 48 ft-lb (65 Nm) Front carrier retaining bolts: 81 ft-lb (110 Nm)" Can someone with a Bentley manual triple-check this information and confirm? Then we can get the PDF updated so that no one strips (or breaks!) a rear carrier bolt. ![]() |
