Default VAG trigger warning - manuel edition

My prediction, VAG is going to carryover the suggest of the 911R and GT3 Touring to Audi, then VW, releasing R and Touring editions of those cars as the only ones with manuel at a big premium.

Audi A4 Drops Manual-Transmission Option for 2019

We canít save all the manuals, it seems. The refreshed 2019 Audi A4 will no longer be available with a six-speed manual transmission, as the current-generation A4 has been since it debuted for 2017. So, add the Audi to the growing cohort of automatic-transmission-only sports sedans.

As you might have expected, Audi is citing low customer demand as the reason for killing the stick-shift option. Only 5 percent of A4 customers in the United States are said to have chosen the six-speed manual over the A4ís available seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Itís a shame, because the manual not only increased the carís driver engagement, it also improved performance. In our testing, a manual A4 sprinted from zero to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds, a tenth of a second quicker than an A4 with the dual-clutch automatic.

The only good news for enthusiasts is that numerous manual-transmission 2018 A4s can still be found in dealership inventories nationwide. The six-speed was offered only with Quattro all-wheel drive and the A4ís standard 252-hp 2.0-liter turbo four, although it could be paired with any of the A4ís three trim levels. Hey, the manual A4 might be going extinct, but at least youíll have some variety to choose from while scraping the last of them off dealer lots before theyíre replaced by the 2019 models later this year.
