Arrow Sport Auto Video - C7 Z06 vs World

All,

Germany's Sport Auto magazine brought a lot of supercars to test their best handling cars. The Z06 was brought along as well.

Interestingly - the C7 Z06 is the only Manual car there and also the cheapest.

C7 Z06/Z07 - Manual - RWD - Price: 79,495 (Base) Price as tested: $96,000 (Possibility of getting at least 12% off MSRP very high)

Other Cars -

AMG GTR - DCT - RWD - Price: $160,000 (Base) - *Rear Wheel Steering
911 GT3 - PDK - RWD - Price: $143,600 (Base) - *Rear Wheel Steering
ACURA NSX -DCT - AWD - Price: $160,000 (Base)
AUDI R8 V10 - DCT - AWD - Price: $164,000 (Base)
Mclaren 720S - DCT - RWD - Price: $300,000 (Base)
Performance - DCT - AWD - Price: North of $300,000 (Figures vary)

See the videos below for how the tests pan out

The first video has English subtitles, make sure to put your captions on as the narrative is in German.

Second video is AMG GTR vs Z06 (Wait till the end of the video to see their test lap times)

Enjoy!

That test track isn't suited to either of those cars. Considering they were only in 2nd or 3rd the whole time, I'd expect a GT3 Touring to win overall because manuel and no big wing slowing it down.

Wait. a tight technical track isn't suited to these cars?. Also, this should have been to GT3's advantage.

One would think this is where the Z06 would fail considering there were no back straights or places to stretch it's legs. Testament to how well the Z06 is balanced and compliant that it puts the power down in a linear fashion without the 650hp/tq being a hindrance. Honestly, big power tracks or small technical tracks, the Z06 is in it's element.

P.s. Little known fact is that the AMG GTR engineers stole GM/Corvette spec tires.

PZeros are still good tires not a handicap. Also, any tire deficiency should've easily been compensated by the 720s vehcle dynamics, tech and power to weight to name a few.

Considering how wet, cold and damp the conditions were, if anything the standard Pzeros should have been to the 720s advantage.

C'mon...
I guess you've never owned a car wearing PZeros

My E9x M3 had them for 12k miles. Had to replace the stock Conti's then. It was better than the Contisports that came stock with the car.

Had no complaints, plenty of grip.

Absolutely no comparison to those Sport cups.... If the McLaren was wearing them it would have easily beaten them all

So, with the Pilot Cup 2's you reckon the 720s would have met or beat Performante's time?

I'm a magazine racer, so what do I know, but I expect that it would based on the specs...
