Default Vanos High Pressure Oil Line repeat failure (1 year)

Has anyone had the high pressure line from the vanos to the accumulator (#2 here) fail repeatedly? I replaced it exactly a year ago (with the updated OE part) and now it seems to be failing in the same exact spot (where the hard line meets the soft).

For reference, the vanos unit was also replaced with an OE unit from the dealer at 87.5k miles (in 2012), currently at 116k.

Wondering if this could be indicative of another issue, maybe with the vanos pressure regulator?

Its possible.

When you installed the replacement, did you have it bent a little to flex towards the engine block in a smooth arch?

Not saying it's installed wrong, just asking as a data point. It's also possible you got a bad compression there at the join.

I haven't had the issue but I went with the Rogue Engineering VANOS High Pressure Hose. I've heard a lot of these busting before so I didn't want to risk running it stock. They say it should be replaced annually but I highly doubt that. At least I know their hose holds higher pressure than the stock ones and it is stainless steel braided and flexible.

I'm thinking of using the Rogue Engineering hose as preventative maintenance, and am wondering how yours is doing after 2 years?
Regards,
Steve
