Default BMW changing from Castrol to Shell as their official oil supplier

Feel like I should stock up on TWS.

Whatever they come up with to replace it on the e46m certainly won't be as s54 specific. Then again, TWS edge professional may have already sailed that ship from TWS motorsport.

Meh.

I just emailed the chemical sales manager at BMW NA to see what insight they have into what this transition is going to mean for S54/S62/S65/S85 and TWS.

^ was just going to ask that. Curious if this will trickle down and be implemented for the already produced engines.

I'm sure it'll be fine. I wonder if they'll switch to Shell's 10w-60, or just recommend a 5w-40 or something for the M-motors

I hope this doesn't mean that we need to change our oils to whatever they say.

I'm good with what I have now.
