Default SMG Relocation

Howdy yíall. Iíve had my 04 SMG M3 for two years now and the cog wheel of doom shows up in summer to my dismay. I am currently cleaning and rebuilding my SMG (motor/accumulator/temp sensor). I hate to put this all back together just to put it right back in the same place, next to the extremely hot block.

With that said I am trying to find a relocation bracket for the SMG to fit in the drug bin. I have contacted BE and they stated they have too many projects and they dropped the plug and play bracket design they were working on. I tried contacting Vince through PM, but either he is an extremely busy man or Iím not worthy as I havenít received a reply. I know I can try to fabricate something myself, but I donít have any metal working tools at all, and I like to keep a clean engine bay.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would love to get my car back together before track season this year with the SMG in a much cooler (temperature) location for any driving I do on the street in 100+* weather.

Interested as well. Did the resistor mod and didn't have any problem so far on track, but better safe then sorry.

That isn't Vince's thread, it's Dr M3an M3's thread. If you read through the thread his friend is the one making the bracket so maybe he can help with one of those. Once you have the mount solution the guys at Burkhart make extension lines http://burkhart-engineering.com/epag...Products/54379

After that all you need is to extend the wiring harness and you'd be all set up.

At the end of the thread is where Vince comes in. He already has a prototype out there installed. Also, BE makes a wiring harness extension in addition the the hydraulic lines. Iím only in need of the bracket currently.

Oh man I didn't know they made the harness extension, that's great news. I'd still PM this fella http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/member.php?u=99265 and ask if he can make one. Would be cool if you could get Vince to send you a mount bracket, best of luck fren!

I am the one running Vince's prototype bracket and fits beautifully perfectly. Waiting for both Vince and the other person in the other thread to get the relocation kits into production. Both of them seem to be busy right now in their personal lives so I am not sure when they will be releasing the kits....

My observations:

I figured Vince was busy. Hopefully I hear something, because I really want to track my car this year. I donít want to track it with the SMG next to the engine block again though. Especially after rebuilding the dang thing. Thanks for the heads up though 0-60. Your data makes me want it even more.
