Default Using TestO with external source

Long story short I am trying to create a 2d chart with an innovate gauge as the z axis but whenever I click apply to make the innovate value the z axis it resets to the motor status values. Does anybody have a workflow for using testO to record RF, RPM, lambda. They work as real-time data and I can see it just want to populate an average chart so I can adjust my partial throttle tables.

Don't waste your time - https://www.efianalytics.com/MegaLogViewerHD/

The 2D charts from my experience barely work and crash frequently.

You can do it by AFR/lambda or set a formula to give you percent error for each cell in the table. You then can multiply the current value in your fuel map by the error percentage to trim the cells.

Logged AFR/Target AFR = Error
13 AFR / 14.7 AFR = .884

Say your fuel map in that cell was 1.08
1.08 * .884 = 0.954
Current fuel * error = new fuel value

Can I use my innovate gauge to calculate afr/lambda?

What exactly do you mean by calculate? I'm assuming you have an LM2, if so all it does is display (or log) AFR or lambda. Out of the box it should be AFR.

Sorry I meant like pull data from it. Wrong terminology

Do you have a gauge or just the module?

With the innovate stuff you need the 4-pin to serial adapter, then with a serial-to-USB you can plug it into your laptop and pull live data from it. Unless it's the MTX stuff which I have no experience with.

You can also wire the analog-out yellow/brown to the rear o2 input and log it through the ECU, that makes all the logging rates real slow though.

I have the whole setup with the serial output. I was able to get it to pull values via TestO, I just wanted to know if the program you suggested allows for external sources to be used.

Are you pulling log files from testo and then importing them into that program because how are you generating the target afr within that program or are you just assuming 14.7 across the board? Just curious your work flow for doing it? I figured out how to do the custom fields.

Ohhh I gotcha now. I do all the logging with testo and then import the single file to the log viewer, that's the easiest way I've found to do it.

Since this ECU doesn't have a logged value for target AFR/lambda you kind of have to fill in the blanks. If you add a calculated field with the formula "[AFR]/14.7" ([AFR] should be whatever your wideband logged channel name is), that'll give you a new field with AF error.

You do have to be careful with transients too (accel, decel, overrun, etc), so the filters in there are especially important.

If you just want to correct the part throttle map, the easiest way to do that would probably be logging the "lambda integrator" value and then multiplying the fuel map cells the same way you would with the AFR corrections. The nice thing about the lambda integrator is that the ECU handles all the transient conditions internally so the logs shouldn't need to be filtered.

After importing the logs, I make sure to set the table breakpoints and X Y Z values identically to the table I'm trying to correct. This lets me copy the histogram table out of the log viewer and into excel, same with the fuel table from the map so I can have it calculate the new fuel table all at once. Then I just copy and paste from excel into the fuel map and there you go.

Flash, log, repeat.

If you do it using the lambda integrator you pretty much have to keep going until your fuel trims are +/- 3%, I'd also clear your adaptations after flashing the corrections.

What USB device are you using, to wire in an external sensor? I'm wanting to log my AFRs and need to see if any of the hardware I have, will work properly.

My gauge has a transmit and ground, for external logging, but not sure what device to connect it to.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm using a ecb-1 gauge that has a out cable to serial and then I use a serial to usb to plug it in my computer. Needless to say there is a plethora of cables running through the car when I data log
