Default ARM3D Interlagos Blue Journal

Hi everyone,

I have been meaning to put this together for a while but have not made any time until now. I've been on the forum since January of this year, joining shortly before acquiring my 2005 Interlagos Blue M3.

The M Journey:

The E46 M3 has always been the most visually appealing M car to me. I had no idea how it drove or felt until the beginning of this year. Let me tell you I was completely sold the second I started the car. Completely stock, I was hooked after my test drive that I had to buy it the next day.

I picked up my car from Carmax after searching Autotrader and every other car site for 6-8 months. My first choice color was white (it felt safe) but I am so glad I chose to go look at the Interlagos Blue first instead. I absolutely love Interlagos Blue and feel that this car deserves such a bold color.

Purchase Details:
2005 E46 M3 ZCP
1 Previous Owner
No Accidents
67,000 Miles
Completely Stock
Came from Nevada or Arizona (have the history just can't remember right now) and seemed very well taken care of. The passenger and back seats looked like they were never used. Exterior and interior were in great shape other than the front left OE 19" wheel that had some curb rash. Looks like the previous owner may have moved to CA and sold the car almost immediately.

I took my car to Platte Form A.G. in Arcadia, CA for inspection. They identified the usual items that needed to be addressed at this mileage but were also very positive about the state of the car in general. While the estimate was more than I hoped, hearing about the overall condition made me feel a lot better. These guys have done nearly all of the work on my car since purchase. I highly recommend them after the great work they have done so far to keep my car in top shape.

I have not done a lot of work to my cars in the past but I have been, and will continue, investing a lot of time learning about this platform. I would like at the very least to obtain the right knowledge to take care of this car properly.

Current Maintenance / Mods:
Replaced Waterpump, thermostat, radiator hoses, temp sensor
Replaced cooling fan clutch
Replaced A/C, Idler pulleys
Replaced CPV and Chain Tensioner washers
Replaced power steering pressure hose and fluid flushed
Replaced OEM FCAB & RTAB

AKG Red 75D Motor Mounts
Supersprint Race Muffler
Status Gruppe SRS Coilovers & Camber Plates
OEM BBS ZCP Wheels / Michelin Pilot Super Sports 225/255
15mm & 12mm Turner Motorsport Spacers

One last note before I spam photos...

This community has been super helpful even to someone like me who is more in the shadows. The amount of information and perspective available from alignment setup, tire sizes, common issues to resolve, DIY guides, etc.. is really amazing. Having a strong community around this car has played a big role in my overall enjoyment and appreciation for the M3. Thank you all who have contributed so far and I hope that I can add to the already great community around here

I take a lot of pictures of my M and will be sharing those here. Mixture of cell phone pics and camera. I'm still learning how to properly shoot so don't expect anything great but it's fun and gets me away from my monitor.. at least for a little bit. I may also post some pics of my dogs..

That's all for now.. thanks for looking!

Agreed, it's hard to capture the precise color but I enjoy that complexity of it

Thanks! You should get one, the color looks so good in person.

Did an oil change and enjoyed some canyon driving.

Enjoying the weather. Nice and cold for the wolf dog this week.

Looking good man! Can't believe someone would let that car touch a CarMax. Lol.

Thanks Genius. Yep.. don't even get me started on carmax... but I took care of the car immediately so she's in great shape.

Looks good! The only thing I noticed was the blank rear rotor. But that's an easy fix.

Thanks! Yeah I have a set I need to order.

Got a flat tire on the way to pick up some things from the store yesterday.. First time using the inflation kit in the trunk (OE parts in the trunk in closed bags, finally opened 10 years later...) On my home took a few pics since the IB paint was really looking good in the sunset.

Waiting for my new Michelin PSS front tire to come in Wednesday.. Guess I can throw on my OE 19's 'till then...
