Harte or Hamann already put the 5.0 v10 in a Z4. Steve Dinan said that the new M3 v8 is exactly the same as the 5.0 minus 2. It should fit. It would be awsome to put a Dinan M3 stroker 4.6 in a M Z4. 520hp 383ft with the M3's dct.

Whether BMW offers an M version of the current Z4 model is speculation on everyone's part. Maybe even BMW hasn't decided yet. I hope they do.

I don't buy talk about the S65 engine not fitting in the Z4. The chassis is always re-worked for the M. If I'm not mistaken over 95% of the M3 chassis was changed from the 3 series. The past Z4M chassis and suspension resembled the E46 M3 more than the Z4. So, if they wanted to put the V8 in the current Z4 and they had to make changes to make it fit then I'm sure they would find a way. Technically, I don't think there is anything stopping BMW from creating a 2010 Z4M. It's a matter of will and whether BMW thinks they could make money from it. I'd be willing to bet that there are engineers and other at BMW who like to see this happen.

Also, I read on a couple of occasions (too lazy to look up where right now) that BMW has stated that there will be no Z4 coupe since the new Z4 includes a hard top rather than a soft top. I would certainly assume that this statement would apply to any new Z4M so you can pretty much forget about a 2010 Z4 M coupe. It's a pity. I really liked the looks of the old Z4M coupe. It's the only Bangled style that I truly felt was worthy of being in BMW's stable.
