Solder it.
I used the cigarette lighter power source for mine. In most cars you can just pop the thing out and bring it inside to solder the wires in, instead of soldering behind the dash while you're upside down with your head pressing into carpeting, and your arms resembling those of a circus freak. Solder, and use some small cable ties to secure the lines so there's never any mechanical stress on the solder. You'll never have an issue with it.

When you run the wire to your 12V source - make sure that you have sufficient shielding. If there isn't enough shielding, noise can be introduced into the sound system. Some iPod integration units have a charging on/off feature to avoid noise / alternator whine.
