Default Dinan S3 (Supercharger) Silver Grey (A08)

Hi Everyone

I want to take the opportunity introduce myself and start the Member Journey of my “new” M3. Some of you may have seen this car around the NJ area. I am very fortunate to buy this car from another forum member who meticulously cared for her during his ownership. I am really surprised no one picked her up but I am happy to say, the car is all MINE!

Like many of the forum members, we all are passionate (aka CRAZY) about our cars in particular E46 Chassis. Many of us didn’t start our love affair with E46 M3. Many of us had admired it from a far or in passing but today I can finally say I am a proud owner of 2004 E46 M3.

Like many of us, we started with the love of cars as children and now as adults we are fortunate to purchase these wonderful work of art we call cars, in this case E46. My first love for BMW was back in 2002 when I purchased 1998 E39 540IA Silver with 39K miles. I owned it for 9 years (129K miles later) and was a very active member on Bimmerforums. I made lots of good people on the forums and attended many local meets. Looking back the best part of owning E39 was about meeting and connecting with other passionate E39ers and other Bimmer members. During the 9 year ownership, I had modified the car to look like a 2003 Mtech E39. Sadly looking back I wished I had done the member journal on the car. With that said, I hope you will enjoy my journal/journey with my Dinan S3 M3. I am looking forward to meeting and connecting with as many members within this forum. Please feel free to follow me on Instagram kaptom540 and I will follow you back.

Without further ado below are the details and photos.

Back a month ago, I was driving home in my daily driver (Toyota Prius) with my two sons. Unfortunately, a 75 year old lady driving a Jaguar coming from the other direction decided to turn left, crossing double yellow line and crashing into me. The Prius was totaled! The sad part about this story the little old lady told the Police Officer I came into her lane and hit her. But the damages and the way I was pointing clearly showed she ran into me. PO gave her two tickets. The silver lining - I was able to upgraded to 2009 335 i xDrive Dinan S3 6MT Msport package, Premium package etc.

The car was extremely loud for my liking especially during the cold start and any RPMs above 3500. The car came with Dinan Mufflers, AR Design Catless downpipes, and no silencer. Here is a clip of the cold start.

I had to replace the OEM silencer back onto the car. I guess I am too old for a loud car! Thanks for looking!

Gas mileage sucks but worth every penny .. I must admit this car is really fast .. Turbo kicks in around 3500 RPMs and the torque really puts you in your seat! Anything under that drives like a normal car.

congrats! Love the E90 with the M package
Thanks !!! knowing me I won't keep the car stock! Will do some mods on the car.
