Buying Process & Car arrival!

The car was purchased from Ryne, a M3F member in CA, For Sale Thread. After weeks of discussion we came to an agreement, I bought it sight unseen. A third party helped us secure the handover, and I had shipped in an enclosed trailer all the way from Costa Mesa CA, to Dover, NH (quite literally coast-to-coast). Here's some comments I posted to help out another user contemplating buying sight unseen:

As far as protecting yourself, escrow.com provides the service your looking for (recommended by eBay), but will take a cut, amounting to somewhere around 200-250 depending on the sale price. Also, you can kindly ask the PPI shop to perform the hand off of a cashier check, and the keys to the car. Then have the car shipped from the shop. (And even offer compensation, since your saving money by not using escrow.)

One thing to be prepared for: Ask about the details. Anything you don't ask about, the seller could intentionally or unintentionally slip by. As such, you need to be prepared for anything you don't ask about, to be wrong with the car when it arrives. Detailed records of the car being taken care of is important too. The two PO's of my car were not mechanically inclined, so I have shop records since the car drove off the lot. It took me about 2 months of talking with my seller, getting details and building trust.
Ryne was great working with me through the sale, and has continued to answer questions I have about the car. I have found some small things here and there that didn't turn up in the PPI, but that's the risk I took buying sight unseen, and was I prepared for this.

Seeing this truck pull in to the Hanaford's parking lot and lift up that tail gate I was hoping to see some other sweet cars, but I was the last one on the truck.

Great shot of the cinnamon with the sun coming in

And the inspiration to go with the e46 M3. Thanks Jordan.

VANOS Overhaul
September 4th, 2015

I love that the Beisan procedures are so detailed that I can prep all the tools so they're ready to go, which means less trips back and forth to the driveway

Along with Jordan, (Stage3Rides)

Yes! Another time I get to use my crowsfoot wrenches!

What an amazing learning experience. Having an instructor in the car with you is invaluable. Perfect for safely learning the limits of your new car.

If there are some suspension guru's browsing, I'd love to chat. I'm trying to figure out new springs for the AST 4100 (rates / lengths).

Haha, Thanks! Couldn't convince myself to go with IB.

Sorry to hear the muffler swap didn't go so well with Jordan.
