Default Buying new 2012 M3 - tips

Hey all.
Glad to be back here. I have the old e46 m3 since new but recently Im thinking about upgrading to a new m3 and just wanna get some ideas.
Now I know it's been awhile since I looked for a new car but I'm gonna trade my 46 in for the e90.
Question is 1. What are the differences 2011 and 2012 m3 models apart from the minor led lights etc because every year BMW change small things.
Second is when will be the final year of production for this current model, I heard the newer one will be called M4 with a TTV6 ?
Should I wait for the final year of production like around 2013? Or something or what will be changing on the next years newer M3? From experience only minor changes yeh? Any ideas or input would be great.
Ill be getting this time a alpine white with sunroof on black 19s Mdct of course.
One last thing in regards to the sunroof instead of the fiber roof, is the sunroof any good? I mean I Havint seen any newer Ms with sunroof. Can it slide fully open and quality of it is similar to your normal 3series?
Thanks everyone

No differences worth mentioning between the two years.
I think next year is the final year. The new one will be a turbo I6, the coupe may be called an M4. I'll believe it when I see it.
I would say if you want one, buy one. Why wait?
Yes the sunroofs completely open on the coupes. If it were a 335 I would want one, but with an M3, I want the CF roof and a manual, but that's me.

I went from an '11 to '12 e92. No changes between them, I believe the '11 model had the LCI and some other little changes. We're not going to see anymore changes w/the e92. Anyway, I wouldn't wait for the new model. The V8/DCT on this M3 is such a beauty! I'd also wait a few years into the new model before jumping. I got the CF roof, my e46 had a sunroof but I don't miss it. The CF roof is unique and looks awesome, especially on the bright/lighter colors. FWIW, my buddy has a sunroof on his e92 and loves it, it's just not for me on this model. Good luck!

don't wait for the new M3 or M4 whatever that is... I am against turbos in M cars.
For me, the things that are the most important are:
-carbon fibre roof (MUST HAVE)
-bmw individual stereo system (or bang olufsen-too much$$$-)
-alpinweiss exterior + novillo red interior
-competition package(mine doesnt have this one )
