They are definitely discontinued. I checked at the dealer a few specifically by part number (82 11 1 469 448) a few weeks ago as my car did not come with anything but the main key, and even that was missing the light, battery and button.

The parts guy said they have been MIA for a while now, though you can still get the older 3-button style. Makes no sense. He couldn't understand why BMW would do that, either.

His suggestion was eBay but all I have been able to find are used ones that are really expensive. If I'm going to spend $90+ on a keyless entry/alarm fob, I want a new one, not someone's old keychain.

They sometimes come up for less than that, but not too often. They are hard to find and getting harder all the time.
