Replacing the amazingly bad stock business cd system and speakers with a Kenwood Excelon 996 HU and an Alpine PDX V9 running Alpine Type R 50c components all around and an JL w3 in a sealed box. Will post photos later today when the install is completed!

Didn't you just recommend 1.5x RMS max to someone else?

I did, and usually do, would have with the type r's but after talking to some people at jl they made the w3 specifically to operate at a lower range of power, as opposed to most, not entirely sure why but it works. as far as the components 1.5 rms is hard to maintain in a four channel amp as the rms is 100w...not too many four channels for auto use that would cover 150 per channelx4 at 4ohm.

So all of the alpine amps come with a born on certificate that shows their actual test wattage output as opposed to the advertised output, which actually got me on board for the MRX v70 when I saw it's tested specs as opposed to the more expensive pdx, seeing as how the case design is the only real difference other than wattage. this one in particular was rated at 115x4 and 385x1 for the sub. So more than rms for the type r components in the doors and definitely more than the w3 needs. Been running it all morning getting the sub broken in and setting x-over points etc and it's sounding pretty damn good so far, little tweaking still needed though on the eq. here are some pics of the installed product, the Amp is hidden where the factory amp was on the left side of the trunk behind the swinging door ad I drilled a small bracket into the panel to keep the sealed box in place while throwing the car around.

there's also a usb port in the sunglass tray that will allow for an external hd, thumbdrive, or ipod to be attached

That looks great. How well does that one fit with the faceplate on the head unit? On crutchfield.com they say you can't put in a fold down face.
Can you take some more pics?
