Default Nav retrofit no sound from radio(FM/AM)

This past weekend I did an OEM Nav retrofit. I get no sound only static with the volume all the way up in FM and AM is staticy but I can kind of hear music in the back ground. Everything else works fine, I get sound from the CD changer and the CD player in the head unit. The navigation appears to work but it only came with the west DVD and I'm on the east coast, I have the correct DVD on the way.

What would cause just the radio to have no sound?

Is there anything specific I should be checking? I checked all the connections, but the only thing I changed to the amp & antenna was the one screw on connector to the amp. I have a feeling that I was sold a faulty radio tuner, now the CD changer and CD in the head unit drop out for 10-20 seconds then come back on.

May be a bad bm53 ?? As for the antenna. Just check that it's seated correctly on the bm53 as well as on antenna booster behind the c pillar.

I tried reconnecting them a couple times but still no radio. I think I'm going to try to find a known good radio tuner and swap it in.
