Default FIRST TIME detailing all out

This was my first time with proper equipment. I got a porter cable 7424 and all the goodies to go along with it. I tried it on my MINI first to try and get a hang of everything. HUGE thanks to Phil at detailer domain. You were a massive help phil making sure everything got to me asap.

What you are calling "swirl marks" is more along the lines of the term "spider webbing". Swirl marks are the result of improper use of a polishing machine of some sort.

It's more of a combination of both

Regardless of what you want to call the previous imperfections, the car looks great now. Very well done, especially considering it was your first time.

Have fun getting addicted to buying every wax on the market.

Thank you for the kind words. And yes, I cannot tell you how much I've spent on detailing equipment in the past two weeks. "oh I need this, oh I might need that"

I'm doing my neighbors Z3 roadster this weekend, I did a test spot to see the before and after.

Not really...

In todays common terminology:

the spider webbing is called swirl marks
the result of improper polishing is called holograms or buffer trails.
