Default Jackpoint Jackstands

Has anyone on here tried these before? http://www.jackpointjackstands.com/Home.php

They look awesome from what I see on the site. The obvious downside is cost: they're 10x what you'd pay for normal jack stands ($300 for a pair). However, $300 for a tool I'll use every time has me thinking about pulling the trigger on them. Has anyone had any experience with them?

At the track, we just put the jack under at the right spot, lift till the wheel comes up a few inches, put a short piece of 2x4 under the tire, lower, insert the pad on the jack and relift. There's a new pad that just came out for these stands that is flat. I saw it on another thread, but I don't see it on the Jackpoint website yet. They work nice.

In terms of costs - not cheap. But I just met a guy at the track with a big dent in front of his rear wheel. He had had a little trouble getting his car off the trailer. I asked him if he did the dent unloading the car. He said it was from when the car slipped off an old school jack stand. Ouch. He was just glad not to get hurt - but you couldn't touch the repair cost on his rocker panel for the $300 price of these stands. You can burn up $300 in brake pads in a weekend, would you risk smacking a wall to use $30 pads from a chain store.

BTW - I first saw them at a Corvette show, but there's alot of owners' comments on the Porsche thread I found when I googled jackpoint jackstands.

F1 Jackstand… scissor jack stand in the middle and it would be fully adjustable and stable..
