we'll temps over 90 does not happen much in the bay area. but when it does, thats when this happens to me. after doing some chores around the house.. and i finally get some time to work on the M (new project) .. i'll run to Fry's and get some of these ceramic reisistors 3.3K ohm/ 10 watt

I had given this some thought even gone as far as thinking of routing a brake duct hose to the pump but there's too many bends to get sufficient airflow. But after finding out the temp sensor is the culprit, I dropped the idea of using a thermal shield of some sort... even though it wouldn't hurt to add more protection.

i did this mod last year when i was experiencing this issue. glad to report i have not had any cog light appear or tranny dropping out of gears since. ** knock on wood - another hot summer just around the corner..
