Default Re: Collapsed lifters- bad cam trays? Or VAC S54 oil pan upgrade?

I have stock internals, 160k, s54 pump, pan. Depending on the course I will have lots of ticking at autocross. One thing that helps is let the engine idle between runs. If you shut it down, it seems that the valves that are open mash the lifters and force the oil out. I have a lot less issue with this if I let it idle. Opening the hood isn't a bad idea to help with heat soak. And yes run a solid quart high.
