on a serious note the oil pump noise excuse of thinner oil may have some weight to it, from an electricians point of view single phase motors have a tendancy to self destruct when not under load, so if the oil is to thin its not exerting enough pressure on the motor therefore its buring out??? do you think im not saying this is the cause im just speculating. this would cause voltage problems within the motor as the motor gets hotter, which might explain why BMW cant always replicate the problem the oil pump isnt being streched enough to overheat on the forecourt. maybe they need to take it out for a longish run.???? any ideas?
