Update:

Changed injector 6, did oil change as well as there was fuel in the oil and car starts right up no misfire.

there was white/gray smoke from tail pipes from the start, but it was light...

Update:


Put the car back up together and the problem is still there, now it went back to cylinder 6. as I checked there was no fuel in the cylinder but there was a lot of fuel on the throttle...

So I did the de-flooding procedure, let it sit to make sure the cylinder is dry from fuel for the entire day yesterday. Checked the cylinder and they are dry and went ahead put the car...

Finally able to remove the old starter, it rattles a lot more and louder than a new starter, the new starter I had to shake it really hard just to make it somewhat rattle LOL, I guess...

Yes I hooked my battery charger yesterday and should be fully charged by now. I'll replace the starter and put everything back together, do what you mentioned, let her sit again 24hrs to let the rest...

Upon removing the spark plugs all cylinders are flooded w/ fuel but the most obvious one is cylinder 6.

so to flush it out should I take out the fuel pump fuse as well before trying to crank it w/...

we tried bump starting the car doesn't matter what gear it just locks the rear wheels. thinking I may still not have enough charge and its not making enough spark to actually start it with bump...

No, but I do remember looking at my o2 sensors values at idle when it was first happening and they are all reading at 0.8v iirc using Torque app.

Yes they turn on when I put it on position 1, but eventually it started turning over after letting it sit for somewhere between 5-10mins

I'd love to run MAP if its guaranteed to be able to connect to smog center computers. so far it seems like it depends on the smog testing centers themself if they got the updates to connect to it.

that would be a highly unlikely scenario. since the engine was rebuilt currently has about 1.4k miles. and the head was checked for flatness and didnt even much done on it just a couple of high spots...

nope don't know yet. I went and got OE gasket now as well from the dealer (more expensive but didn't wanna wait 1 week to get it from FCPeuro.) and will do the job in a day or two.

I would consider it to be the cause if it didn't disappear after racewerkz did the VCG replacement, and just later came back up after 200+ miles driven. If that was the leak then replacing the VCG...

the head wasn't from the one that I bought, it was from my original engine including the block.

I actually got my money back from getting a new crankshaft on my rebuild with that other engine...

the 2nd engine that I bought not sure its history, I used it as donor parts since it was only 900bucks and it has a fully rebuilt vanos since the shop said the customer thought the "rattle" was vanos...

so took the cabin air filter housing and went there and felt around the back and I felt oil from the half moons, especially the one closer to intake side.

Cleaned them up and removed...

this last time the valve cover was replaced it was done by racewerkz and they did a dye test and said it shows that it was coming from valve cover. they even had someone come in and clean the engine...

Ok, got my car back from racewerkz and they worked on the leak, they diagnosed it as valve cover gasket and installed new gasket and did the RTV thing on the half moons, no leak or smoke coming from...

if its similar to the sound of mine, don't wanna burst your bubble but dont get your hopes up, always expect the worst on this scenarios... the bearings on my cylinder 1 was basically non existent...

maybe you had a rattle due to vanos and that rattle comes on at cold start.. then the rattle on rpm ranges is the spun rod bearing.

coz mine don't rattle at idle at all and the rattle won't come...

dude.. Not to scare you... but Mine sounded the rattle can sound and thought it was vanos, rebuilt vanos all the way through and rattle was there and it comes on at 2.5k RPM.

Turns out its spun...

so re-timed the car but just touched the exhaust side this time. the first few times code came up it was w/ in the first 30-50miles and I went past that and thought maybe it is fixed...

there is two of those on the rear of the cylinder head so it is possible that one of the two popped off. imma have em check it out.

you're lucky then, majority of people I've seen have this problem and seen threads that say some people just keep a reserve dme with alpha n tune just to pass smog. too much of a hassle at that...

from what I understand on alpha-n, it assumes that the amount of air its getting is constant at rpm ranges/points and it doesn't really adjust to real time values, for example as the person above...

I got the ecuworx tool for like 30bucks that lets you turn the efficiency code but keep the sensor active to make them complete. and the SAP as well but for some reason my SAP wasn't going to...
