Re: problem with dme shut down after s54 swap...need help!!!!

Can't help explicitly with the conversion (though always good to see people working out these swaps...) but I can explain the MAERZ02... that's March02 aka "post March 02 build date".

But... I'm...

Re: Alarm module

Was GM5 from same model/body-style?

Dunno about E46 but E39 for sure you have to recode for a Touring vs. Sedan, otherwise the trunk/hatch doesnt' work. Weird because you'd think either way its...

Re: MK60 DSC thread

Agreed, typically VIN isn't loaded via the NCSExpert EEPROM read/write process.

It wouldn't be a 'profile' that you needed anyway, it'd be the ECU definition files.

WinKFP can't update an...

Re: Comprehensive MSS54/MSS54HP DME Information

I bet you'll find most guys who did any kind of disassembly / binary analysis used IDAPro.
I'm virtually certain nobody really decompiled. I bet everybody is working in assembler. If you've ever...

Re: Alarm module

Come to think of it you're right. The alarm kit is just the siren, tilt-sensor, and motion sensor (if not vert that is). Then code the GM "yes you can do the alarm thing". I installed mine so...

The alarm is the "DWA" module, which is a 'child module' that - as cossie says - sits under the GM... As does the wireless remote module (EDIT: FZV - looked it up).

Does an alarm-trigger register...

Re: XDFproject BDMblock remake??

I think you’re confusing TAP with Paffy.

Tho that said it is a shame that two of the best dudes creating MSS54 tools evaporated around the same time.

Re: XDFproject BDMblock remake??

I have to say with MSSFlasher there's a lot less need for the hassles of BDM. But. It is nice to have a hardware solution for emergency recovery.

It's too bad tap totally disappeared instead of...

Re: Comprehensive MSS54/MSS54HP DME Information

Yep it does. I don't know crap about A2L syntax but this looks like it might help.

Basically it says if "Type" field says RAT_FUNC (dying to drop a "rat-F**er" joke in there...) you complete...

Re: Comprehensive MSS54/MSS54HP DME Information

Just had another look at a few of the signatures in there. Hard to say if there's any conclusion there.

They mostly seem to be "V4" releases created by v.035 of his program, while the most...

Re: Comprehensive MSS54/MSS54HP DME Information

Checked a couple versions vs OEM and tuned BINs. Seems legit.

They are clearly all TAP's XDFs, generated by his program, as indicated by a couple telltales, the first being just the "Basic" vs...

Re: ALSZ and AKMB NCSExpert errors (E46M3 SMG to 6MT swap)

Did you cut your pasted text short? Seems like the details of the MK60 error are missing.

I know for sure that some LCM's won't code if it sees a mis-matched VIN vs the rest of the car... That...

If you're using the PASoft "Coding Data" tickbox-type functions then you shouldn't use the read/write raw EEPROM function. And you should only do that if you really know what you're doing and if...

I was just gonna say, he might be conmfused? 7832868 looks like a hardware number to me. A really old one, that supercedes up to 7842975, aka the standard 'non-HP' hardware stream.

I didn't...

Re: Can't get a read off the DME after tune (supposedly not locked)

Well WinKFP doesn't actually "virginize" the way that we use that term around here. When we say "virginize" we don't just mean "reset the tune to factory" we mean "also erase all the VIN and EWS...
