VIN can be reprogrammed into a DME that didnít come with the car. Happens all the time if you have to upgrade your DME to run a CSL tune for example. Maybe motor and DME were swapped into your car...

Yep. The splined shafts connect the chain gears/hubs to the cams. If removed and you turn the crank, the timing is now off and the valves will hit the pistons.

Get the crank back to TDC, then go...

Yellow tag rack was a 100% direct swap for me. I used my existing inner and outer tie rods. You'll need an alignment to correct the toe.

Biggest is the torque is right where you need it on the track. For example No Name straight at Lime Rock, pulls hard around 5k to red line. Same for 4th going onto the main straight. Looking forward...

All I can confirm is that NY cannot read the stock CSL software. I just decided it wasn't worth all the hassle and went with an Alpha N tune. Swapping DMEs, Clearing codes, running a full drive cycle...

Are you referring to the piece that the bumper cover clamps/pops onto? I tried removing a washer behind this to move the bumper in, didn't make much difference. Maybe it need to move OUT so there is...

Couple quick updates:

First I got the fuel pump sorted out. The leak was in the line from the pump to the pump carrier. Ended up using a smaller hose for a tighter fit. Lesson learned there, don't...

It's just a self tapping screw, you can probably find something close enough at Home Depot.

Check this guy out, he gives a really good overview. Couple things I would add to make it easier:

Do each cylinder in firing order (1,5,3,6,2,4), that way you always know it is on the compression...

Put in another test drive last night. Cleared all the adaptations then did a bunch of hard accelerations to 5k rpm and engine declarations. Also did a leak down and that looked good, all 6 cylinders...

Yep, couple hundred miles break in then straight the dyno. I'm not making any major changes from the previous setup but compression should be higher, so hoping for a little more power.

Got the bearing I needed (thx Andrew Lang) and got the long block together. Adjusted the valves and got the VANOS installed and timed. Goal is to have it all back in the car and running next week!
