I got the rest of the car back together now. I did have to rush-order a timing chain guide. The thing snapped in half when I was removing it.

Bleeding the cooling system was a challenge...

I think you are right. Magma leather has proven harder to find than I expected. A cheap paint job is $3,000. Some minor engine oil weeps exist. Nothing drips, but like the typical Vanos oil line...

Although the OEM Alpine C33 display was nice and bright and the volume knob worked fair at best, the radio would cut-out intermittently. On some drives, the radio would just start working....

Magma has that 'marbled' coloring to it so I will only buy old BMW leather to make repairs. There is a set of nice Magma seats in Arlington, VA. See Panjo link....

Thanks for your help. The 2nd new door lock actuator (an OEM VDO) came. I popped it in (not quite like that) and all the door locks work perfect! Thanks for the help there.

If you tried to add pics using the paper clip and they were too large, it just stops. No error message. That means the pics are too large and you need to cut them down. Maybe you had another problem.

They are worth a bit less now but probably not zero. These are basically painted leather so I doubt they were ruined in 3 days. Vert seats are out in the sun and rain more often than owners admit.

A flyer came in the box. It showed a picture of both starters. It said the dirty-old one was Version 2 and the one in the box was Version 1. They both work but I don't know the difference.
