Re: Slighty OT: Question for European members, or people familiar with RHD cars

I drove a RHD car when I visited Thailand, but it was an automatic. Took about 10mins or so to get comfortable driving on the left side of the road.

To play it safe, I'd go the automatic route......

Re: Somehow mechanic wore off my steering wheel clearcoat

I purchased a new 32342228230 steering wheel from the dealer, nothing beats factory fresh.

It's been almost 3 years now and the leather is still matte. I clean the wheel with a hot and clean...

Re: Imola/Modena E36 M3 For Sale

The high miles, baked interior, and peeling clear coat are a killer. I could do 2/3 for such a rare bird, but 3/3 is a shutdown.

I hope the new owner has the funds or/and the skills to bring this...

Very nice, hardtop too. I heard the spoiler was a dealer add-on item, just curious if it's a factory part.

Buffalo leather looks like an elephant's ass spray painted black. Germany can keep that one. :D

Definitely looking like a decent repair, is the front getting sprayed too? I hear Estoril can be a tough match.

Re: Red Rocker Switch - What Shall It Be?

Right, member since 2003.

You have to take apart the LED and unsolder the resistor inside. The LED is setup for a 12v input, but the Alpine alarm outputs 3-5v. Once the innards are removed,...

Is that what you're waiting for? To shit on us Americans because we got a different engine and an Alpine alarm instead? You enjoy rubbing it in? **** off.

Re: Red Rocker Switch - What Shall It Be?

From what I've seen, this LED was only offered on the E31 here in the US. You euro and down-unda members have twin-button fog light switches and this LED at the wrecking yards for pennies. I bet...

Re: Red Rocker Switch - What Shall It Be?

I would never install that hideous switch in my car. The euro fog light switch has a secondary latched button, I'd go that route first just to keep the stock appearance.

Edit: Bummer, looks like...

The white indicator lights were an option, I've seen US-spec build sheets with this option, S785A.

Looking good!

I have a set of OE clears for the sedan plus a smoked Depo set. Used to swap them out every couple of months, but the ambers have been on for over 6 months now.

Welcome. Good to see one being brought back, EB/Modena too, salvaged title?

Now is the time to inspect the rear shock towers for cracks, common failure point for E36s.

Mine turned out to be the pedal travel sensor, the solder joints cracked. Removed sensor and resoldered joints, fixed the ABS light for me.

I think the squeak is inside the clock-spring, but it could be from the steering column.

I purchased a brand new 3 spoke steering wheel from the dealer which came with a new clock-spring. It squeaks too.

This has me scratching my head. I'll double check my AW sedan when I get back from vacation. Would you mind linking the replacement battery when you have a chance?
