If you haven't already done it, I would say AS or Rogue SSK with CDV delete. Changes the whole manual experience on this car. Lightweight 18-inch rims would also be a great mod.

Re: Retrofitting A Heated Recaro Sportser CS

Not sure about the heating part, but the Cross Sportster has very shallow (i.e., useless IMO) thigh side bolsters. I guess it's for people who are either fat, have wide hips, or don't like rubbing...

What Terra said. I confirmed it with CA Automotive.

Actually, the opposite.

Re: How much weight reduction to increased performance?

The usual ratio touted around the internet is 10lbs ~= 1hp. Also, effect of removing unsprung weight is greater (I don't know how accurate it is, but I've seen figures as high as 1 unsprung lb...

Re: CSL Airbox Flap - What does it do?

It was my understanding as well that it's mostly for noise control, and it's definitely a fact that most CSL owners get rid of it when it breaks down (which apparently is common), especially out of...

Re: Your Ultimate Modded M3?

My current mod list, with a few caveats and emphases (sp?):

- 18" rims, preferably lighter/stronger ones. I went w/ Volks, but a lot of choices out there. Also, somewhat wider/stickier tires...

Re: BMW M235i vs BMW M3 CSL on track

Agreed, and I think this is a good example of taking "street" cars, and making bad comparison of those cars the track. A lot of apples and oranges, especially when comparing a "used, old loaner"...

Re: BMW M235i vs BMW M3 CSL on track

Yes, as it has been pointed out in the posts in the half hour preceding yours. But going with your argument, I can also point out that the 50 lbs you speak of is 1/68th of the car's weight! People...

Re: E46 M3 Weight Reduction

Very constructive input, much like when anyone asks about weight saving, someone suggests "they hit the restroom", or when someone asks about power mods, someone suggests "driver training" (you know,...

Re: BMW M235i vs BMW M3 CSL on track

Me too, between the a/c and stereo. I guess a substantial amount of the weight savings comes from the interior (front and rear seats, cf door panels and ditching the airbags, no HK, center console,...

Re: BMW M235i vs BMW M3 CSL on track

4. The CSL in the video had both business CD and AC (clearly visible at 1:17), negating much of the CSL's "weight loss". Same crap as the CSL of the TopGear, Isle of Man video, where Jeremy goes on...

I had looked quite a bit into doing a fog light delete on my OEM bumper a couple of years ago because a) I never used them, b) like DriveSlow said, it looks more aggressive/cleaner (and I don't like...

My comment was "tongue-in-cheek" (I thought the "lol" made that clear, but I guess it didn't).

Re: Obioban's 2005 Imola Red M3 coupe (56K mass murder)

Nice!! Would you happen to know the part number of the SPAL fan you used? Based on your description (medium 16 puller), it sounds like the 30101516.

Re: What's an aftermarket E46 part that is very hard to find and you wish was made ag

+1, the oem one. Since we can't order csl parts from US dealers like normal bmw parts, I think of them as aftermarket, lol.

It would also be nice if someone designed a cf driveshaft that works...
