Re: Unique driving situation. Should I buy an E36 M?

OP is looking for pure enthusiast feel + unique + DD for 30k annual miles + reliable + $13k budget. And the likes of a 1 series doesn't fit. That tells me the likely suspects of golf/Jetta don't...

Re: What to do next?

Enjoy it.

Assuming your shocks/struts are good (newish), if not do those. X brace maybe. Then go do some hpde if you're not already. And do a solid detail.

Re: Good Deal? 1995 M3 215k 4,000

Big difference between a hit that totaled this car 12 years ago vs a hit totaling it today. Plus, the cl ad implies that the current owner took the buyout, but you indicated 7 owners passed around...

Re: 1995 M3 thats been sitting for a while

If you get it for $5k (doubtful given the owner's $9k dream) and are willing to dump another $10k into it, you'd end up with a decent rig for $15k. Or, go find a $15k rig that's well sorted and...

Sorry Eric. High value thread and post. Couldn't resist.

On a more serious note. Back in '06 I was seriously contemplating one of the last remaining IB/black 6mt zcp e46m over at Brecht. And I...

Re: Which M3 is the best? Only God can judge...

Pretty aggressive wet road driving in a bunch of borrowed cars. Just makes me want to go out and buy one of each - except I'll save my $$ and pass on the e30....

List price is best they'll do? See about getting the bearings and actuators replaced within that $26k price.

Re: Chinesed! Behr Coolant Overflow Tank

Rip it out. Doesn't have to be today or tomorrow. But do it sometime over the next year. Replace with a dealer tank. I did exactly what you did - on a lower mileage e36m. And the tank failed at 2...

I thought so too. In this case, they must be using different plastic. You can tell the difference looking at new BMW vs Behr.

Keep an eye on that Behr expansion tank. Mine crapped after 2 years. I too purchased it from AZ. See post 202 in my thread over on bf.c for pics:...

Re: what's the value of my e36 '95? :)

OP +1 for your likely honest description - rock chips, scratches, curb rash, snow, hail damage, etc. Based on that, the repaint and the miles I highly doubt the interior is a 9.5. With that said, I...

Re: thoughts on older M3 vs. newer f30

No current 3 will have the feel of your e36m. Not even close. Did exactly what you're thinking 8 years ago with a 335 6mt. I'm back in an e36m. With that said, if you want new, fun, light-ish, 6mt,...

Re: Interior Color Match

I think the '95 is more prone to the delam on the insert due to two factors - the glue used and the fact that it's vinyl, not leather. I've talked to a couple very reputable shops locally and both...

Yes. That's why I posted it. Yes. It's an exact match. Yes. More expensive, but compared to all the other expenses on these cars, it's pocket change.
