Re: Current Quality Carbon/CSL Roof Options

My primary concerns would be resistance to yellowing and fitment, for a car that isn't race car. 50 lbs lost v 52 lbs lost matters to me a lot less than it turning to shit after a couple of years.

Re: Current Quality Carbon/CSL Roof Options

With how little difference there is in weight from one supplier to the next, I would not use that as a factor in my decision making process.

Unless race car (not track car).

Re: Obioban's 2001 Le Mans blue M5

Yes to the first part.

Trunk is a similar size to the e46. Passenger spacer is vastly larger, especially if you do the euro dash.

Everything about the e39 M5 is eeeaaaasssyy compared to the...

Re: Obioban's 2001 Le Mans blue M5

Still awesome.

Still nothing like the e46 M3 (so if you're hoping for a bigger e46 m3 experience, this isn't it).

Re: Review: Cobra Nogaro seats (uniquely street friendly fixed back bucket seat)

One of the big advantages of using the OE slider is that it has ~double the travel of aftermarket sliders-- making the back seat still more accessible than you'd think.

With the current side mount...

Re: Drop After Eibach Install...WTF?

ZCP has the same suspension as all other 2004-2006 M3s, which is higher and softer than the suspension on the 2001-2003 cars.

Re: The govt vs the car guy. Which side are you on?

This is the only setup I see on ESS's site (https://esstuning.com/bmw/e9x-3-series/m3/)-- $3500 for mids and muffler:
https://esstuning.com/ess-e9x-m3-exhuast-full-system/

Not super budget.

If he didn't have cats, his cats wouldn't have clogged :raspberry:

I wonder what brand of cats ESS uses (which is what he was running, IIRC).

Re: The govt vs the car guy. Which side are you on?

My OE US cats failed at ~70,000 miles in my M3 coupe-- probably due to all the tracking, since the OE US cats in my (barely tracked) M3 wagon are still fine at ~200,000 miles (that said, it's going...

Food for thought (again posted as someone with cats on all his cars, including the cars I track):

Re: Review: Cobra Nogaro seats (uniquely street friendly fixed back bucket seat)

I think quickfit concerns will be less pressing once I can post about my harness mounting solution. Installs/removes faster than the quickfit, and the camlock is on one of the lap belts :agree:

Just to confirm, on the quickfit the camlock fixed on one of the shoulder straps? Not the lap belt?

Re: Review: Cobra Nogaro seats (uniquely street friendly fixed back bucket seat)

I think everyone should find a set to sit in before buying!
(any seat, not just these)

But, my brother is a 32 waist-- I'll try to get him to weight in on width for him.

Re: Brake upgrade options

no no no, that's their total weight, not the weight difference!

So, in front:
Brembo 355mm: 7.35kg
US M3: 8.17 kg
ZCP: 8.55 kg

That said, the calipers are lighter than the stock calipers,...

Question Anyone know of a sealed joint adjustable rear end link that works with stock sways?

Well, CSL sways :P

I'm looking for:
rear sway
sealed link
adjustable
plays nice with stock

If I had to give up one, it would be sealed. Everything else is necessary!

So long as your rod bearings are healthy, and your car is otherwise well maintained, no reason not to.
