If both dme's have the same software version on them (both 1701JD34 as an example or both 0401J424 etc) then yes you can copy the partial of 1 to the other.

Yes if you write a blank file, it will remove all existing coding from the module and then re-code itself from your cars VO.

Then you can re-code it as you need afterwards.

If you have the ST eeproms, it won't write to them (can't remember if it can read them, but pretty sure it won't read them correctly either).

Re: How to interpret CSL Cluster Oil level results?

-.- L means it needs to recalculate.

+ 0.3 L means you are 0.3L above minimum

+ 1.1 L is the max it will read, which means you are 1.1 L (or more) above minimum

Re: MSS52 / MSS54 / MSS54HP Binary Modification Tool

CSL's (infact all SMG's) have shift lights enabled by default.

Yes it's wishful thinking, you will brick your dme if you try that.

You can however use those 2 files, and update the dme via...

Re: Converting an MSS54HP into an MSS54HP CSL (H-bridge)

The modified software posted up does work, however i'm sure i've read that there are some issue's with it.

You would be better off getting it reprogrammed with a bdm to get it running the proper...

Re: Instrument cluster not working

When you disconnect the radio, you should see a 4 pin plug near the main connector.

You can just unplug this (radio will die) but the rest of the car should come to life, if the i-Pod adaptor is...

Re: Instrument cluster not working

Ok I thought i'd update this incase it helps anyone else.

The mirror memory module didn't fix the problem.

In the end it turned out to be the Genuine BMW i-Pod adaptor wiring that was the...

It's just as easy to leave it virgin though and then sync it with...

Re: Spare MSS54HP ECU Swap with EWS disabled.

I never ran into that problem before, and i've done it a few times, as when I switched back to my stock ecu (i've done it a few times for various reasons) I always forget about the EWS and then find...

Re: Instrument cluster not working

Ok so I followed a guide I found on the net, of how to find the main k-bus connections.

After reading the limited info, it suggested that the strip connector should be at 12v, and if it's below...
