FWIW, there's two holes in these wheels.

The center round hole for the shaft, and the hole above it for the wires.

The wire hole for single stage wheels has the pointy-topped triangular shape...

Right. It's most likely a bad ignition switch or something with your EWS. Or a bad ground strap.

Try another key and see if that helps. That's the easiest thing to do. Then check the ground strap....
