Re: Anyone do any home brewing?

Cracked a bottle of the stout that I made last Christmas. It still doesn't have a ton of body, but the carbonation is definitely there (finally). I'm told (:shifty:) there is a nice coffee flavor and...

Re: Cross country trip this time of year

The M+S rating is more about tread pattern than rubber compound or actual ability in mud or snow (sounds like you figured this out already :lolhit:). Glad you made it safely. :thumbsup2:

OP, these...

Re: Koni inserts in Bilstein strut assemblies?

I don't believe the Bilsteins can be made to accept Koni inserts.

Re: ///M_Achilles: 2005 Carbon Black Metallic M3

I can only speak for the BMWCCA AutoX events I've done there at MIR, but they really are fun because they're straight through instead of out and back on a real tight parking lot type of course. I'd...

Re: Brown Old Man Paralyzed by Po-Po

Holy hell. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. Poor guy.

And it sounds like justice is being served. Hope that's indeed the case.

Re: Left/driver tail light out

This is a definite problem on these cars and can cause some bizarre problems, but I don't know that it would kill power to a taillight. Might be worth investigating, tho.

Ah yes. The Panda.

I don't know if Fiat ever teamed up with SEAT, but there were some comically crappy looking cars on the road when I lived in Madrid in the mid 90s-- all of which were nearly...

Re: How many miles do you get out of your rears?

Man, I guess my RTABs must have been done by the PO given the shape they were in when I removed them and how long my tires last. 5K on E36 tires is insane even if you're driving it like a total...

Re: How many miles do you get out of your rears?

Fair enough. I have no experience with tire wear characteristics on the E46. Is it common or them to chew up the inside of the rear tires? Did you have aggressive alignment specs? Or maybe worn...

Re: How many miles do you get out of your rears?

Assuming our alignment is/was good on both cars, I'm guessing a lot of that could be chalked up to RWHP, no?

Re: How many miles do you get out of your rears?

Edit: Ignore everything I said here. Thought I was in the E36 section.

Most folks seem to get 20-25K out of a set of tires if they're not driving too aggressively. Maybe closer to 15K...

Re: Worst car ever

"Float" is exactly the right word for how the Camry felt. Reminded me of when my Jeep had a worn out linear steering rack and failing tie rod ends. At speed, you could turn the wheel 45* in either...

Oddly enough, I've heard great things about the Abarth. Not sure what they are doing differently with them. Are they available in convertible or are they fixed roof only? Fixed roof and a hopped up...

Huh. Maybe it was over salted? Is that even a thing? :shifty:

Anyway, I'm the exact opposite. First time I was in a salt water pool (I didn't know it was salt water at the time), I couldn't figure...
