Re: Advanced Fuel Dynamics - PROFLEX E85 flex fuel option

I guess it depends on the failure mode of the injector. If by running them too long at 100% duty cycle they get stuck open, you could hydrolock your motor.

I'd just get bigger injectors and be...

Re: Advanced Fuel Dynamics - PROFLEX E85 flex fuel option

That's not really how injectors work. They can't be open more than 100%. The only way you can get more flow out of them would be if you increased fuel pressure.

Perfect for driving to/from work IMO. Lets you accelerate without cutting power by 90% if there's the tiniest bit of slip, and doesn't intervene nearly as hard when you're taking corners fast.

Re: ZCP steering rack upgrade worth it?

Ah you were driving a 330. That's not the same thing as driving an M3 with a 330 steering rack. The suspension geometry is very different between the two, with the M3's suspension making everything...

Re: ZCP steering rack upgrade worth it?

When you say very light feel, how would you compare it to a stock M3 non-ZCP rack? My yellow tag feels noticeably heavier than my stock green tag rack. And I don’t remember it feeling noticeably...

Re: ZCP steering rack upgrade worth it?

All 2002+ 330s got the yellow rack. Rack doctor just fed a line of BS about it being random. Purple rack was in late 01 330s and all 02+ 325s. And in RHD markets there was no 330-specific racks - all...

Re: DIY: E46 M3 detailed rod bearing replacement and front suspension refreshment

Given the steering rack and steering shaft apparently didn't change during that period, odds are they're interchangeable... though I have no idea what the difference is supposed to be in that case.

Re: Surface mount resistors for Cluster LED

For this purpose it won't matter - the current being passed through is small enough that you'll never reach the power limit at any size. I forget what the factory LED size is. It's either a 1206/3216...

Re: ZCP steering rack upgrade worth it?

Well in theory there could be an assist or feedback difference, but that really could go in either direction.

Re: Surface mount resistors for Cluster LED

What information are you looking for exactly? There's not a whole lot to resistors. If it fits, the LED will light up. The larger the resistance, the dimmer the LED. 151 is probably close enough to...

Re: XDFproject BDMblock remake??

Cool. Also as far as chipIDs,

The ST M29F400BBs that early MSS54HPs come with have an ID of 0x20D6. I believe, read/erase/write are otherwise identical to the AM29F400BB. Then for the AM29F200BBs...

Re: Instrument Cluster Research (2003+ cars)

Hmm, yeah I guess that circuit is a little different. Also based on your other visible resistors, seems like your cluster 'wants' 160 ohm resistors instead of 147 ohm. Either way you can get what you...

Re: Instrument Cluster Research (2003+ cars)

Could probably grab the resistor off the convertible circuit too. And you can use a solder blob or a small piece of wire instead of a zero ohm link.

Re: Instrument Cluster Research (2003+ cars)

Nothing's "wrong" with it per se. Just would gain some steering feel and precision if there were an easy to fit u joint.

Almost every signature in this thread, including yours, technically breaks our rules. But in fairness, those rules were made back when 800x600 was a typical screen resolution.

Yeah I’m wondering if they stopped connecting pin 8 at all at some point? Must be a reason even the one stop electronics adapter comes with the bridging adapter.

Alcantara outers + m-tex centers get my vote. Leather outers just looks cheap with the cloth IMO. At least on stock seats.

Re: What would it take for you to sell your E46 M3?

Your car is a special case, but for most of us $40k can get us into a lower mileage M3 with enough money to redo any mods we may have.
