Re: Smell oil but I don’t burn any

Did you use RTV on the half moons of the VCG in the back? If you didn't or it didn't seat properly, you may have a small leak there that you can't really see and it will drip straight onto the cats...

I still have the original subframe bushings in there :shifty: They looked fine when I was installing the Mason brace, going to replace them this year along with diff bushings. Will stick to OE.

Re: Do catless headers remove all cats?

Yes, the only cats are in the header. The piece in the mid section is a resonator.

Yes, it will make your exhaust smell bad. Some people can't stand it, some people don't mind.

Re: Topside only subframe reinforcement - good idea or terrible idea?

I only have the Mason brace without any plates and so far so good. I figure if the floor does crack, fixing it would cost around the same as installing plates anyway so why bother?

Re: The Official E46 M3 Oil Analysis Results Thread

Re: Subframe surprise

With the Mason brace, there is basically zero movement in the rear mount points. I don't see how the front mounts would experience any movement with the rear ones firmly in place.

I installed it on my car. It really tightened up the rear end and stopped the up/down movement of the trunk floor/subframe mount area. I love it and it looks cool as hell.

What do you need to...

That doesn't sound right. The stock AUX fan runs at half speed up to 140 km/h and it doesn't hurt the airflow.

Interesting. I'm still on my original fan clutch and it looks like a new clutch is around the same cost as an electric fan. Might as well free up some power.
