Having very same issue it's getting frustrating.

A drive cycle generally consists of about 20-25miles at or below 60mph while keeping the rpm's below 3000 rpm.

Top timing is certainly important

I use two locking pins instead of one to eliminate any error when putting everything back together.

2. I'm still averaging 23 mpg
3. 550 lb/ft of torque and 375hp to the crank
4. do it.

It's worth it.. the top end power is unbelievable
