Itís illegal here, too.

10 years in, Iím feeling confident itís not an enforced law.

I have stupidly good projectors in the M3. 4 high beams is still a significant upgrade over 2.

Re: Oil cooler feedback/reviews

That is not true of the e46 M3-- the center buffer zone is only a couple degrees.

Given that's hard core race car, almost certainly he'll end up without AC-- good amount of weight savings off the nose to lose it.

Ooof.

I suspect piston to valve contact, from the sound of it. I suspect your timing procedure was off, somehow-- it pretty much has to be, since you found you needed to retimed it twice.

Nothing overly exciting to most people-- a 2003 e39 530i.

I didn't plan to buy it, it kind of fell into my lap for a price I couldn't refuse... with all new bushings all around, new cooling...

Mount the AC compressor like a supercharger? :hmm:

I was much less tempted to swap before I had a second S54 car. :screwy:

Yes, I also think the current Mercs and Audis are pretty shit... though they fallen a lot...

Dry sump would be a necessity for me, as I believe itís the only way to keep the R&P steeringó not something Iíd want to lose off the e46!

If you can’t see the apeal of a 8200rpm, 500+ hp v10 in a small, 3000lb chassis compared to a large, 4000 lbs sedan chassis... I don’t know if I’m going to be able to sell you on it :)

There are...

Re: Still looking to add another, Anyone tried an m6 manual, v10?

If you want a seemless, factory like swap in the e46, the s62 is probably the best bet— same ecu as our car, so the electronics are pretty plug-and-play, and the s62 has a ton of power left on the...

Don't get any work done there.

$2400 should cover the rod bearings being replaced, twice... which includes an oil pan gasket refresh.

I'd hold off on the oil pan gasket until you get oil analysis back, to find out if you also need rod bearings-- oil pan has to drop for that. The car will warn you if oil is low on the cluster...

I haven't driven the new M5 yet, but I don't agree on the M2 or M3 CS at all. The turbo engines are 100% experience altering. Which, to be fair, you are stuck with in the normal 981s/991s... but at...

An s85 e46 would be a better combo, imo-- then you have a legitimate weekend/track car that doesn't need to be able to hold up to thousands of DD commute miles at a reasonable cost.

Re: Still looking to add another, Anyone tried an m6 manual, v10?

The s65/s85 bearings have two failure modes:
1) wear, which occur by high RPM usage (which replacement helps with)
2) lottery, which can just happen at 10 miles, 100 miles, 1000 miles, 10,000...

Even they drive damn near identically, somehow I always find the M5 impressive and the M6 to be a huge let down.
