Re: Shortening bump stops on B12 kit

Yep, take off one inch, leaving 40mm. This is perfect - restores travel back to stock/koni levels with zero negative side effects. Don't cut more than one inch though.

Also, as noted, watch the...

Re: Modified E46M3 vs M2

With high resolution throttle calibration, progressive torque ramp-up and really good rear traction (read: good LSD diff) there isn't a problem at all.

Yeah.... no. If this car had a DCT three quarters of the 6MT "purists" would be all over it.

Yes, but they are all quite different from one another. The 46M is way more hardcore/edged/NVH/high strung than the relatively subdued/lazy 36M. To me, the 36M is much more like an E46 ZHP than the...

Yep.

In both cases we have a new/initial design, followed by a vastly improved iteration of that new design. Aggressiveness, precision, response, power, grip, rigidity and looks.

Re: Best Daily Driver Suspension?

Oh, and then an ultra premium damper option valved for stock/near stock rates AND the option to run OE-style springs (stock/Eibach/Dinan/etc.).

Sadly, the aftermarket seems to think that "more...

Re: Best Daily Driver Suspension?

I see. No one runs stock spring rates with coilovers/conversions. To run a 170lb front coilover spring would require such a long spring that you'd likely end up higher than stock ride height due to...

Sure, you can run anything you want.

That doesn't mean it will work well.

Ha, I agree on principle but not beauty.

I mean - the 46M vert with the top down and OEM 19s is one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. However, on principle I don't think any...

Horrible ride quality. I ran the GC conversion (375f/430r) on standard Konis and it was one of the worst setups I've ever experienced. And I was young then, too, haha.

The standard Konis do not...

Hey Shaikh!

I much prefer the Stage 1 valving all around. Front/rear, comp/rebound. For Stage 2 we went too soft and the car got a little floaty.

For reference, you may want to use the Stage 1...

Good setup, especially with the additional front travel. You should have more bump travel than you did stock which means maximum large bump capacity - no slamming the chassis that would normally...

I did but mainly for increased bump travel at lowered heights.

But yeah, camber plates are pretty pointless for a street car unless you're trying to run rear wheels up front.

Excellent data. This is what I've been saying for years.

When you eliminate all variables except wheel diameter, the 'net' difference is inconsequential. Further, because the smaller tire weighs...

718S is the one I would pick, no question. This seems to be the value sweet spot and probably offers plenty of performance whilst not being as hardcore as a GT car.

Further, since you never registered it, are you certain there aren't any registration surprises for the next owner?
